A successful Compass Windows 7 Rollout

At a time when almost everything relies on technology, it’s important for retail and hospitality industries to keep their equipment modern and up to date.

Displaying the newest innovative technology is likely to attract the attention of new and prospective customers. Conversely, having outdated or out of action EPoS system could be the ultimate decision maker in gaining or losing a customer.

By updating IT frequently, businesses can eliminate the risk of unnecessary failures.

This project involved replacing all Compass system master, slaves and consultation PC’s and Lexmark printers for the UK’s second biggest pharmacy chain.

Short term, this resulted in an increase in break fix calls due to equipment movement and historical problems which were highlighted by Vista Field Service Engineers when at site.

An education programme took place with the printer installations, and documents were drafted to help sites understand the process and re-educate on printer use to ensure they are used correctly, thus eradicating the risk of future complications.

 They said

“Overall the project was a massive success and has been enthusiastically welcomed across the estate!!

There were many challenges on both sides in achieving this and between the retail deployment and Vista’s project teams we managed to not only deliver the numbers, we managed to deliver above expectations, whilst agreeing and defining process and efficiencies along the way!

We will make sure lessons learned will be transferred into the next rollout in an aim to make us  even slicker in delivery and surrounding processes, with this is mind I would appreciate your full cooperation in assisting Ros to deliver to expectations and in turn hopefully alleviate unnecessary stress.

Ros, Mark, Jill and Sam did a fantastic job in supporting and assisting us through the rollout and their flexibility and ‘customer first’ attitude definitely got us out of a few holes!

In particular I want to highlight Ros for her sheer persistence in delivering and Mark for his excellent technical and problem solving abilities!!!”
