Amazon holds plenty of power in the online marketplace, yet beneath the smiling face of this online retail giant lays a technology company powered by its own innovations. Traditional retailers can only rely on the technology that is available to them, whereas Amazon creates it and uses it to manage, market and sell inventory.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom for traditional retailers stuck using the technology their budgets can afford them. Just like any giant that we read about as children, Amazon has its own weak points and traditional retailers can exploit these to their advantage.
