Ten Vista ladies joined 8,000 women and children at Cardiff’s Bute Park to do the ‘Race for Life’ in aid of Cancer Research and raised over £700 in the process for the charity.
The girls braved soggy conditions on Sunday 18th July to take part in the 5km race and were cheered on by their bedraggled partners and husbands. Despite the disappointing weather conditions, the ladies made sure that they prepared properly for the run with a testing warm-up session by budding gymnast Bo, the 4-year daughter of Vista’s Support Centre Manager Tracy Whelan.
The field was a sea of pink as the runners, joggers and walkers covered the 5km encouraging each other along the way and while they won’t be worrying Paula Radcliffe anytime soon, the Vista team all managed to cross the finishing line in one piece, raising a great sum for a very worthwhile cause.
