Every year, 31 million tonnes of rubbish are thrown out in the UK. This makes it vitally important to counteract the damaging effects of our waste generation on the environment, which in turn motivates us to recycle as much wastage as we can.
In order to ensure that all WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is repaired, reused, or repurposed, Vista has a culture that supports the Greening Government Commitments strategy and our desire to offer sustainable and environmentally friendly services. Our own circular economy is fueled by this, which keeps waste items from ending their useful life in a landfill.
Together, we were able to reach Vista’s recycling goal of 100% repair, reuse, repurpose, and recycling for all electronic goods that were either damaged or excess to requirements.
In our purpose-built repair facility in South Wales, the team at Vista has a proven track record of repairing faulty retail and hospitality IT and PoS equipment. The team works in a lab-like setting to repair electronics down to surface mount component level meaning that the successful repair rate is far greater than other repair facilities that focus on module replacements or whole unit swaps. The repair staff at Vista were able to effectively fix 97% of defective or damaged devices they received. When you take into account that this involves technology that may have being significantly damaged, it’s fairly amazing.
The 3% of the products that remain are regarded as being beyond repair or being at the end of their useful life. The team doesn’t just discard these items, though. We do our utmost to establish a 100% circular economy for all electrical and IT goods we support for our clients by repurposing, reusing, and recycling every component.
