Charles Clinkard’s Nationwide EPoS Systems Upgrade

The Challenge

Vista was selected by Charles Clinkard as their partner of choice to carry out the replacement of POS hardware systems, across 28 of their sites throughout the UK.

The upgrade included staging and installation of new Epos systems, as well as the stores’ existing peripherals (receipt printer, scanner, cash drawer and keyboard) and re-configuring the existing Chip and Pin devices).

The customer required Vista to perform the systems upgrade within a 90-minute window ensuring that all systems were installed and tested and up-and-running, before store opening.

Vista can supply a range of Retail technology and in this case, the customer selected the NCR CX7 PoS system, with NCR peripheral POS devices and Zebra barcode scanners.

The Solution

Vista’s highly experienced Project Team planned the project from start to finish. A pilot installation was carried out by a Vista project manager who identified all the potential project risks and created a detailed installation document which was used as a blueprint for the roll-out of the remaining stores.

Within a tight 90 minute window, prior to the stores opening, Vista’s field engineers were onsite to decommission the legacy hardware from the store for return, reuse, repurpose or recycling; the new EPoS systems, including all the peripherals, were replaced; all cabling was correctly routed and terminated and thoroughly checked and tested to ensure they were operational; and finally the site was also cleaned and cleared of any packaging before the store opening.

Across the board, our experience as a new customer of Vista, has been excellent and we’ve been really impressed with Vista in all areas, from account management to the support we’ve received so far. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vista to any prospective new customer.
