Oasis Warehouse

The Challenge

British fashion brands Oasis and Warehouse bring the latest to womenswear high street fashion, offering a diverse range of clothing, shoes and accessories. With a combined total of 120 standalone stores and over 400 concession stores in the UK, Oasis/Warehouse have certainly made their mark on the Great British High Street.

Vista has maintained a long-standing relationship with Oasis/Warehouse for almost 15 years and they enlisted our services to deliver a comprehensive upgrade to their existing till infrastructure.

With Black Friday marking the busiest day for retailers, Oasis/Warehouse set this as the hard cut-off date to ensure all their existing PED devices were upgraded to P2PE-compliant devices throughout their UK estate. Following this, Oasis/Warehouse required a full EPoS refresh to replace their existing legacy kit.

Why Vista?

Oasis/Warehouse needed a partner that could deliver a number of seamless project services, without interrupting their customers’ in-store buying cycle. More importantly, approaching the peak Christmas trading period, Oasis/Warehouse needed a partner that could be flexible and adaptable to in order to accommodate last-minute changes and decisions at the busiest time of the year.

Already familiarised with our customer centricity, Oasis/Warehouse selected Vista to carry out the P2PE PED upgrade of over 350 devices. This was followed by an extensive EPoS upgrade throughout the UK and Ireland, including the staging, delivery and installation of new EPoS systems. Both projects required precise project management and prioritisation to meet tight technical specifications, timescales and budgets.

The Solution

The first phase of the project involved the complete upgrade to the existing suite of PEDs. As the old PEDs were approaching end-of-life, Oasis/Warehouse needed a replacement solution that could be deployed quickly and would meet the PCI compliant industry standards.

In total, Vista were required to install 306 VX820 P2PE PED terminals to 147 stores within a 2-month timeframe. As this was the first P2PE transition for Oasis/Warehouse, they needed to rely on Vista to ensure the process was totally secure, effective and deployed professionally, ensuring precise timeframes were met.

Divided into two parts, the second phase of the project involved the implementation of the EPoS upgrade across their concession and solus stores. Vista provided the full HDI service, including staging, shipping to store, and the installation of all hardware which consisted of PoS and peripheral equipment including cash drawers, receipt printers and scanners.

Vista also provided the collection of legacy equipment and the shipping back to Vista’s EPoS Exchange facility for safe disposal. Although timescales were challenging, Vista were able to pull out all the stops and perform a successful roll-out on time.

The Result

Through excellent project management, communication and dedication, Vista successfully delivered the project to Oasis/Warehouse within budget and on-time. The rollout was led by Vista’s Project Services team, whose key administration ensured that the deployment was a resounding success.

We are very pleased with the way in which Vista’s highly experienced project team have managed our projects. They were able to scale up whilst retaining great flexibility. This was a truly effective partnership which meant there was minimal inconvenience caused to our business. Vista have a highly professional, skilled and dedicated project services team who are a pleasure to work with.

David Mold, IT & Managed Services Director (Oasis/Warehouse)

This project involved many challenges from tight deadlines and software complications to changes in the staging process and hardware records. However, above all of this, we worked incredibly well as a team and collectively delivered a very exciting project. We were totally committed to providing the best possible service and adapted to every situation to support Oasis/Warehouse through their transition – we understood the challenges they were dealing with.

This was by far one of the most rewarding projects I have worked on because of the complexities and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with Matt and the Oasis/Warehouse team in the future.
